For a high school senior that has a 4.0 GPA (hopefully it stays that way) and an SAT score of 1590 (taking it again in October), what are some schools in California that would have a high probability of accepting me? Considering I would be an out of state student also.

Although the school would be a "safety", I would prefer colleges that are still pretty well known and have a good reputation. Also I'm interested in going the pre med path in college.

My worst fear is not getting accepted to any schools I apply to, so I need fallback schools.

Privates are tough to predict but, UOP, Loyola and St Marys are 3 that are probably well within reach. With a stronger SAT, your list grows significantly.

Assuming you’ve take the correct classes, 22 of the CSUs should be well within reach. (SLO isn’t a safety for anyone - and your SAT is light for them).

Many out of state applicant are tripped up by the A-G course requirements at the CSUs. These classes are the primary gate. - meaning, without them, your grades and test scores don’t matter.

Good luck

Cal poly pomona and Cal state fullerton would make good safeties or your in-service area Cal state.
