Safety Schools

Hey, everyone!
I’m currently working on applying to some more colleges for Theatre, and I’m worried that I don’t have enough safety schools on my list. I know that, especially as a girl trying to get into these programs, there is a lot of rejections.
My current list of safety schools is Drake University and University of Iowa, (I live in Iowa, so these are both logical and cheap schools for me), but I’ve been struggling to find decent safety schools, so if anyone could give me names of some or good places to look, I would greatly appreciate it!

Thank you!

@JustASmallBundleOfStress Are you looking to stay in the MidWest? Are you open to a BA or would like a BFA? Large or small school?

Knox is in your part of the world.

I don’t really care if it’s in the midwest or not, as long as it is a good program. I’m open to BA’s as well as BFA’s. I would prefer a slightly smaller school, but if I like the program enough, a larger program could fit me.

@JustASmallBundleOfStress - a true “safety” is a BA program that will definitely want students with academic record. If you can share your GPA and test scores, that would be really helpful for targeting which schools are likely admits for you.

Look into Drew University in NJ, 45 minutes from NYC. I’ve heard great things about their BFA Theatre Arts program. And Princeton Review continues to rank them high for their theatre program.

Drew is a BA, not a BFA. (Still a great program, just being factual! )

@actorparent1 Yes, that was my typo. Drew University has a BA Theatre Arts program, not BFA. Thank you for the correction.
