Saint Joseph’s University Class of 2023 EA/RD Applicant Thread

S19 was accepted with $$!

d19 accepted with a scholarship

I got in with Presidential Scholarship and Honors Program!

Son accepted with presidential scholarship 22,500. Really surprised Drexel is coming out better then St. Joe’s. Fingers crossed for the Dean’s scholarship. We really love St.Joe’s

DD accepted with presidential scholarship and honors invitation. Also crossing fingers on dean’s scholarship and the McNulty scholarship.

Daughter accepted with Presidential scholarship.

Accepted with 3.8 gpa and 28 act with pres scholarship

Son accepted with 10k merit - was disappointed because it was just about the lowest of all the schools we have heard from so far. Don’t think this will be a contender for enrolling at this point.

Daughter accepted with University award 13,500

Son accepted with $17k University scholarship. 1290 SAT and 3.8 gpa.

Son admitted with invite to Honors, and 3 scholarships (presidents plus 2 others) which add up to more than half tuition - which is very nice! How does the Dean’s scholarship happen? I don’t think son realized that you have to apply for that? or is it that you apply if you are invited to apply? I guess I can pick up the phone and ask…

My DS was admitted, I don’t remember the name of his scholarship but it was around $20,000. Congrats all so far!

Accepted EA with a 1320 SAT and 91 gpa and the University scholarship

@345winter Congratulations to your son! You have to apply for the Dean’s Scholarship by going to the SJU scholarships page. It requires you to write an essay I believe, and the deadline is January 15. Anyone is invited to apply.

@brokenjavascript @345winter I’m not sure the Dean’s scholarship is not open to everyone. I think there might be a required GPA and SAT/ACT score to quality. Since they list GPA our of 4.0, I’m thinking (but not sure) that the GPA they have listed is unweighted. Hope this helps

Deans’ Scholarship F, I, *
A limited number of full-tuition scholarships are awarded on a highly competitive basis. SAT and/or ACT scores are required for consideration. Finalists typically have a 3.75/4.00 GPA and a 1400 SAT or 30 ACT. An interview is required for finalists. Scholarship application and essay are due by January 15.

@Mommy43, I’m pretty sure that anyone can apply for the dean’s scholarship. It may not be worth the time if the stats aren’t at least close, but the potential payoff is huge.

He is above the published stats - so that is no bar. I just have no idea why we didn’t see it and apply sooner. But still there is time. He got almost $27K so far - can’t hurt to go for the whole enchilada!

@2022mom, same!! My daughter loves SJU, and has said many times already that she can’t picture herself anyplace else. ?

My S19 was accepted into the Biophysics program with a UW GPA of 3.9 and an 25 ACT. He also received an 18K scholarship. He attends an all-male Catholic HS in the Baltimore area. We have not yet visiting the campus, but his dad has recently taken a job in downtown Philadelphia, so the location is fantastic.

Good luck everyone!
