Can I submit my common app essay to another school if the prompts are similar/they would make sense, or is that a no-no? Thanks!
Well, the common app essay is usually sent to all schools and stays the same across all of them, if that’s what you’re talking about.
If you’re talking about supplements, then it’s definitely fine to re-use parts of supplemental essays (or even entire essays) for different colleges. That’ll cut down on your work a lot. For me, even for prompts that aren’t very similar I can often chop up and mix together things from previous supplements. The only type of essay I wouldn’t recycle would be “Why this school” essays, bc those should be unique to each college.
