@FutureNurse2020 I also thought I’d be getting in when I saw lower stats! Oh, well.
@FutureNurse2020 your STATS are amazing- what do they say about wait list- when would you know? How can one stay on a wait list when you have to commit by May 1? How did you guys find out- Portal??
@Lovemyjob All it says on my portal is that because of my credentials, I have the waitlist option, and there is a drop box asking if I’d like to be on the waitlist, and that is all for me. It’s on the portal.
If anyone is interested in waitlist stats here are some from the last 2 years. SDSU only started using a waitlist in 2014.
Number of applicants accepting waitlist 2015: 1037 Number admitted: 27
Number of applicants accepting waitlist 2014: 1945 Number admitted: 47
Portal literally just updated to Denied into Nursing
Who knew SDSU had become such an elite school that it is extremely difficult to get accepted, especially into Nursing- I knew it was a long shot but still disappointed
Damn none of my friends are getting in and they have decent stats what is going on!!!
Waitlisted
In-state
Major- Business Administration
CSU GPA- 3.9
ACT-24
@Lovemyjob are you in state/local area?
@andreamyb1 I am in-state, Northern Cal
How about you? What other programs are you considering?
So sorry to all that got difficulty news today. To the nursing hopefuls I know what you’re going through as my daughter was very disappointed to learn she wasn’t accepted as well. I wish you all the best moving forward.
SDSU nursing switched to a direct admit only program this year with a projected acceptance rate of 5%. Pretty tough odds.
Denied with EI 4790. Shocked, confused…
So sorry @futurenurse717 - I am sure you have other wonderful programs to choose from now and you will go on and make a wonderful nurse! Sounds like SDSU needs to think about making a bigger freshman class as they have denied extremely qualified candidates!
Don’t hangout on the waitlist to be picked up if you have an acceptance in hand that you need to commit to by May 1st. Not worth the risk
Those who got rejected feel free to let us know where else you got accepted and where you intend to enroll please.
@Baylorpoly I plan on accepting admission to another school and then if I get accepted from SDSU I would just lose the despot money I had on the other school. However still waiting to hear from Cal Poly SLO
Yes maddening how long they stretch it out at CP SLO
I was confident that I would get something good since I got an e-mail today. But then I went on here and most of them were denials.
Guess what? I got denied.
Statistics
3.04 CSU GPA
990 CSU SAT (530 Mathematics + 460 Reading)
EOP Applicant
Los Angeles county, no priority admission.
Welp, I’m not completely shocked here. I don’t really care though since I got into San Jose State, one of the top 5 choices I had. Most likely I will be heading there and live in the Bay area. However, I did get a supplemental questionnaire from UC Los Angeles, so things could change.
I am still waiting on my other top choices, Fresno State (last name issue), UC Berkeley, & UC Los Angeles. Also waiting on UC Davis & UC San Diego and I did get the supplemental from UCSD as well. I got accepted to Humboldt State. I got denied from Syracuse EDII, but I rushed it and felt like doing it.
To those 8K future Aztecs, have fun. San Diego State will give you one heck of an experience. As for the denied, look at the other options, it’s just not meant to be!
I wouldn’t take the waitlist to be honest, screw that.
EDIT: trashes SDSU p00p thanks for the time, San Diego State!
I’M pretty shocked, denied admission today

Kinda bummed because this was first denied but I’d go to a UC over this school
