San diego state university- sdsu class of 2022 admitted students!

Hey guys!
This is a thread for the students who got admitted to San Diego State University for Fall 2018! Go Aztecs! This is for anyone who has committed to attend SDSU or for prospective students!
I’m thinking of committing myself! I’m a biology major.
 Good Luck!

My son was admitted for Fall 2018. He is still waiting.to hear from cpp before he makes his decision. He is mechanical engineering. Go aztecs! Love the school.and it is his dad’s Alma mater. Enjoy!

My daughter was admitted also as a biology major. Visiting next Friday!!

@texcalmom I have to visit during the last week of March cuz there’s no admitted students day tour until then. :(( I wanna see SDSU already!!

@SmartGurl17 We are just doing the self guided tour. Flying in from Austin and have to make our final decision from other colleges. They supposedly only let you see one dorm, and we already know which one she wants

I was Admitted on March 19 and will be majoring in Computer Engineering. Was on the fence about SDSU until I got an email saying that I am not required to pay my intent to enroll fee. Can’t wait to go!

@texcalmom Oh Texas is nice?! I got accepted to UT Dallas but I didn’t apply to UT Austin even tho I regret it now haha. But OOS UT’s r expensive like the UC’s :-q

I went to UT Austin. I think you will like SDSU more. Austin is cool, but more options in San Diego.

@texcalmom as far as dorms you dont get to pick which ones, you can only pick the living/learning community and whether you want double, triple or quad. You can see where they are currently but there is no guarantee they will be there next year. That is what they told us when we were there for Explore SDSU back in March.

My son and I visited yesterday and committed yesterday. I am excited for all of you new Aztecs. It is a wonderful school in a wonderful place. We did the tour several months ago and this time we just walked around, like he made me go everywhere. So yes, I know where campus facilities are located now.

@Bean981 Right. Sorry we know which community she would like to be a part of. Did they say how likely your chances of getting into a chosen community is?

@texcalmom: There is no way to know the chances of getting any specific learning community since it will depend how each student ranks their choices and if the specified dorm can accommodate all interested students. My son got into his last choice a few years back it worked out fine for him since he made some good friends in the end.

Did anyone receive a package in the mail about acceptances at all? Just curious as I know my daughter got many from the schools she got into but my son has not yet received one for the two CSU schools he got into. Just curious or is that a thing of the past?

@bean981 I received my SDSU package- it was a red folder with pamphlets, and a paper SDSU flag and sticker for the laptop. I’m still waiting on the package from CSULB. Not sure if they send out anything for SDSU’s Honors college acceptances.

My son was admitted to SDSU in Aerospace Engineering. We took the admitted student tour during spring break and fell in love with the campus. He sent in his SIR right away. Go Aztecs!

@Gumbymom did ur son graduate from SDSU yet? B-)

@CaliUSA7: My son graduates this May.
He actually asked if he could stay another since he is having such a good time.

@Gumbymom Oh cool! What graduate school is he attending now!? Time flies…

@CaliUSA7: He will get his CS undergraduate degree this May. He just jokingly said he wanted to stay another year instead of going out into the “ real working” world. Finding school much more fun than actually working. Graduate school may be in the future but not right now.

@Gumbymom He should check out Austin for jobs. Good paying jobs, relatively inexpensive cost of living, and fun scene
