Santa Clara early admission class of 2017

Our daughter was deferred, as well. She applied ED. Very sad night at our house, too. Trying to stay positive and hopeful for an acceptance in the future. Congrats to all -

Accepted EA with a 35 ACT and UW 3.92 GPA from the Midwest, unsure yet if I’m going to attend since SCU was more a safety school.

I do have some issues with financial aid, though. On my fin aid award letter they’ve already given me some scholarships and an “SCU incentive grant,” which is a grant for students not receiving need-based aid, even though I’ve applied for need-based aid and FAFSA for 2013/2014 hasn’t even been released yet. Have they really adamantly decided that I will receive no aid aside from the scholarships I got before I can submit some of the forms? $25k/year between remaining tuition plus room and board, books, and food seems pretty steep for SC considering I’ll have about $20k in loans at graduation, too.

Can anyone with experience (IE admitted EA in the past before FAFSA is available) help me out here? I plan on calling in the morning, too.

I didn’t get very much aid either. I received a need-based grant of $14,100, which still leaves about $40,000 for the cost of attendance. Unless I get another scholarship, I don’t think I can go there.

My daughter got accepted with a GPA W 4.05 and a 2020 SAT. Leadership and ASB President. Her merit was half of her other offers. Very competitive this year.

Is the financial aid offer final or can/will be adjusted later?

Accepted from Washington!
