hey guys im going to be taking the SAT 2 US history subject next this upcoming fall.
I have been trying and studying real hard for these months and just had a couple questions.

1) Are the questions detail-orientated or more general?
Like will they ask what certain people did what and what there beliefs/actions were?

2) If they are detail orientated, how DETAILED ARE THEY?

3) Would you say the test is hard/easy if you studied for it?
Give me ur personal experience.

Thanks!

There are a mix. Some are more general (historical/political trends) others are specific (knowing who was the leader of some movement or group).

They are not so specific that they would ask dates, but there are people, places, and organizations that need to be identified by name.

Fairly easy with thorough prep. I had a lackluster US History class and with about 2 weeks of intensive review got a 750.

I took AP history, got a 4 on the exam, and only got a 680 on the subject test.

1) Some are detailed, but if you know the general trends and who the fairly major people were, you should be all right.

2) The most obscure questions I got were on people and what exactly they did. (I remember one about Jacob Riis - it was only chance that I knew it.)

3) Personally, I didn’t bother studying specially for it. I had a really excellent APUSH class and got an 800, 5 on the AP. While some other people were trying to memorize tiny facts I tried to understand the big picture, so I think that really helped me. The American Pageant was our textbook and contained everything I needed to know.

Good luck! US History turned out to be one of my favorite subjects ever!
