I took the SAT back in my junior year of high school in 2011 and still have the Princeton review book. I plan on retaking the sat to transfer to a better college. Do I need to buy a more recent prep book or is the 2011 book good enough?
NO, 2011 is no good. Too old… and depending on when you are taking, I think they are changing them yet again, so definitey get a new book.
@ZBD5421 How is it ‘no good’? The CB blue book was released in 2009, which is 2 years older than the PR book. Would that make the blue book useless?
@ambivalence101 It’s good enough. The CB blue book was released in 2009, and is still one of the most valuable resources in the market. So yes, the PR 2011 book is good, but only for this year, since the 2016 SAT will assume a different format.
@DarkEclipse would you recommend the CB blue book? I’m trying to raise my SAT score by at least 250 points since I only got an 1860 but I’m not sure if the Princeton review book can do that.
That depends on your ability, but the blue book is one of the best books out there, so it’s a great resource to have. Buy it if you can.
