SAT/ACT Score and Ranking Comparison of National Universities

^ I second what gabriellaah said. There are a lot of numbers flying around this Board, as well as sites like collegeboard.com, Yahoo Education, US News, etc. If applicants really want to compare statistics, they should ensure that they're comparing accurate statisitics, and that they're comparing apples to apples (accepted vs. enrolled, most recent data vs. several-year-old data, median vs. mean, etc.). More importantly, they should understand the significance of the data (or lack thereof), and not make additional empirical inferences that are not statistically justified (as, e.g., I illustrated in post #23 above).

Of course, the statistics are only a starting point, and we all know that there's A LOT more that goes into choosing the right college or university.
