SAT BB - page 368 #5 (MATH QUESTION HELP)

Need help answering this question >_> i forgot all about slope to standard and blah
Could anybody offer explanations to how one would get the answer: D in this?

Because I only come upon to y=-2/3x+2

oh and a brief explanation for #8 on the same page! thanks

5)To find the x-intercept just subsitute y with a zero.
To find the y-intercept just subisture x with a zero.
Use backsolving.

8)The question is asking how many y values are equal to zero between 0 and 12.Well, you only have a portion of the graph(where you have 4 y values that are equal to zero) ,but they told you that the graph is repeating each 5 steps in the x-axis.How did I know? It says f(x+5)=f(x)
Which means that f(0)=f(5) and f(1)=f(6)

I am pretty sure that my explanation seems illogical.

Btw,just write the question on google and you will get the answer instantly or ask Dr.steve in his thread(Sat Math Problems).

Thanks for explaining the first one! The 2nd one is still a bit confusing to me… Yeah I’ll ask Dr. Steve. I’ve seen him around and he seems REALLY helpful
