SAT curves and score reports...

It all amounts to something you’ve heard time and time again.
A 2400 doesn’t guarantee admission and a 2000 doesn’t guarantee denial.
However, for Indians, a 2400 usually guarantees admission.
Colleges differ, obviously. Some consider all scores, some consider superscores and some highest single sitting score. Obviously a 2400 1st attempt is waay better than a 1800 (CR 500 W 500 M 800), 1800 (CR 800 W 500 M 500), 1800 (CR 500 W 800, M 500) which superscores to the same. But for Indians, it’s somewhat like this:
2400 –> You’re getting into an Ivy. Don’t make any application killing mistakes.
2300+ –> You’re most probably getting an Ivy. Just one more standout in your application will seal the deal. Maybe a national swimming trophy, etc. etc.
2250+ –> You’re still in tier 1. You’re in a good spot. Brush up that application. Don’t do anything that will kill your application. Have something that stands out. Write good essays.
2200+ –> You’re tier 2, but just. You can still make it. Do all the above and you better have a stellar essay.
1900+ –> You’re school captain or a national debater or something of the type. Your score wasn’t the superscore of 3/4/5/6++ takes, probably the first. You know SAT isn’t your thing. You’re very good at what you do. People around you know you’re amazing. They respect you. People read your essays and go Woah!

This is obviously, if you’re unhooked. If you’re hooked, makes it a whole lot easier. It’s been seen that the SAT score is proportional to acceptances. Don’t delude yourself into thinking you’re amazing. If you have a 2000 superscore after 3 attempts, you most probably arent. Then again, dont think just because you have a 2030 first attempt, your chances are screwed. And laughs dont take chances threads too seriously. They usually make you feel bad. If you get in, you deserved it. If not, you probably didnt.
