SAT Help!

Hai everyone,

I'm currently a senior who's taking the SAT Reasoning in October for the first time. I managed to get in a bit of studying during the summer, and I've only just seriously started now. Yes, I know it's late.

Anyways, I need some help with the CR sections in the SAT I. Well, writing too, but also the CR section. It seems that I can eliminate my answer choices down to two, or VERY rarely, three. How exactly should I deal with this situation? Similarly, with my writing sections, I'm able to eliminate the phrases that don't sound right. I can further cross out one or two phrases based on the grammatical rules.

So is my problem just...not enough reviewing the information on grammar rules? Or is it simply not enough practice. A friend of mine suggested to me that I'd get a feeling in my gut whenever the right answer pops up, but whenever the feeling emanates, my brain goes into 'logic" mode and tries to contradict it. That's what's causing the 'one-or-two" choices problem.

Any advice? I'm using PR and Barron's currently. I've got about 10 practice tests remaining: 7 PR and 3 Barrron's tests.

Thanks again!

altruition----YOUR A NOOOB>. YOU DONT LOOK AT THE STICKY’S. I AM WRITING WITH CAPS MODE ON…HAHAHAHAHAH!!!

play devil’s advocate if your left down to two choices. Instead of trying to justify one answer choice, try to justify WHY IT COULD BE INCORRECT

altruition, don’t use the Barron’s or PR book. At the end you will be preparing for the SAT with material which is not as accurate as the College Board material. Try to get a hold of the College Board Student handbook and do practice out of that.

I know I didn’t answer your question, but I just wanted to give you the advice of using the Blue Book over any other book at all costs.

Indianjatt: You mean the BB from Collegeboard, right? Or is the Student handbook something else?

fresh101: Ah, the lovely devil’s advocate. Sounds fun. not really D:

yeah the big blue book. They have a new one which has 3 newer tests than the old one so I recommend getting that.
