**SAT II Literature December 2015 Discussion*

Damn @devious2015 , you really unloaded the package there, eh? Hahaha, I’d say thanks a LOT, but I’d probably get shot in the process. From your information, I got 5-6 wrong. Maybe one or two less/more. Hopefully that’s still above 700  .
I’m not too familiar with the subject test scaling so a raw score of 53-55(my case) could hopefully land above 700. I’m trying not to compare it too much to the normal SAT where getting 6-8 questions wrong would earn you a glorious boot up your rear.

Yeah, thesaurus was really great and I loved the poems mostly  TBH I only did a couple Kaplan’s and a couple Cracksats, and the night before I did some quick last-minute cramming of the literary terms.

@AGoodFloridian -5/6 is about a 760, according to http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-subject-tests-preparation/1171357-sat-2-curves-p1.html and Kaplan’s. // I think I also got around -3 to -5 wrong… the hardest question for me was the “just” one (I felt that none of them really worked; ended up picking precisely) and “coxcomb” one (because I had no idea what “coxcomb” meant oops). BTW, I thought the Chinese passage was very Amy Tan-esque, which I loved!

@drakonus Tell me about it… Each one that I got wrong I specifically remember being in doubt between two alternatives. The one I got wrong, and the right answer according to the post above. So that’s a bit annoying hahah
There were only two that I legitimately flunked out of lack of knowledge. The “men” from coxcomb. (Really? The questions says which of the following don’t refer to the men audience, and the answer was “men”. Damn it…)
And the “fitting and true”. I was confident that what I chose was somewhat correct.

And I completely refuse to believe that “an episode revealing the personalities of family members” was true. Sure, the passage has a mom, dad, and grandmother in them, but they’re mentioned just to get the story rolling and not to reveal anything about their personality. Was that really the point of the text? Baaaahh hahah

Just a disclaimer, when predicting your grade based on the post above, it’s always more reliable to stick with the lower prediction. Remember, there were some of those funky metric questions, three our four of them if I’m not mistaken. Personally, I guessed on all of them, full stop. If you feel confident on prose/poetic structuring then disregard this.

2 days! Everyone ready?

Scores are in! What did you guys get?

760, which is kind of disappointing – still, I got 800s on my other two, so I’m not beat up about it.

got something really disappointing.

I got a 650 lol, silly me for trying to retake a 750

Which practice books did you guys find the most helpful? I’m using both Kaplan and Barrons, and for some reason always score at least 50 points higher on Barrons…which score do you think is more accurate?
