did anyone do well on the ap english language test and take satII lit. i know that a lot of the ap english test was reading and analyzing content, writing style etc. can anyone share their experience?.. thanks

The lit is easier than the ap. It's a lot faster and less stressful. It seems like on previous lit posts that people have thought the lit test was a "killer" but I thought it was easy. If you got a 5 on the ap, a 750 or higher is not unreasonable though you should still review to get familiar with the test format.

Thanks for the info; I'm really glad to hear it. The things I've heard about this test have made me a bit apprehensive, but this is reassuring. I got a 5 on English Lang and a 790 on SAT I verbal so anything below 700 or so would be a bit disappointing. (I want to be an English major.) Any suggestions on a review book with good practice tests?

For comparison, I got a 5 on the AP, 800s on the SAT II Writing and Verbal, and ended up with a 780 on the lit. You should do really well, based on your scores. As for how hard it is....I thought the SAT II was definitely more difficult than the AP, but that's just me. I suggest buying the barrons book and taking a few practice tests. Don't worry if your scores are low. I was scorring in the high 600s on practice tests, then did much better on the real SAT II. Good luck! :)

For reference- I got a 4 on AP Language (self study), a 750 Verbal (first shot),a 780 Writing, and a 770 Lit.

For an accurate measure of your score, PR had good tests. However, it only had two in its practice book and other than the two tests, it was worthless... so you might want to just check it out from the library instead of buying. Both tests told me I was in the 780-800 range and I got a 790 on the real thing.

I got a 5 on the AP Lang, a 800 on the SAT I verbal, a 700 on lit, and a 620 on writing. Those last two were certainly a bad day, lol.
