SAT II Physics

i guess the test was designed so that u either knew something or u didnt. Either u answered a question or skipped it completely.

yeah but some of the question were like common sense questions like one on how to reduce heat pollution ( you cant do that) and one on Shift in spectrum if a star moves away. It should shift to voilet ( Sun is a star and when it is setting the sky turns voilet)

I believe the latter is redshift

indeed...it is redshift...so much for thinking it was a breeze desbravo

you are right i gues i messed uo ther but still thats like 1 wrong and 1 blank and 3 guesses in the SAT physics exam so i am still hoping for a good score

well seeming u just got that question wrong what makes u think u didn't get the others wrong either? they always want people to think they got higher than usual...which in the end people get lower :-/ not to offend u or anything i thought this test was hard

i love how you can either get lucky with an easy test over mostly kinematics, etc. and then you can get a test like this one with electric fields and worthless crap

well i have studied the british system A levels . and like that is supposed to be tougher than the American AP Physics course. thats why i found this test easy. Like a B in Alevel physics is actually considered an A- in USA. And besides i read the baron book and most of the things came straight from that book. and besides even if io get 10 questions wrong (fat chance) i will still get a 800.

besides i am not posting to boast or anything i just wanna confirm answers and with someone

i wish i could slap that british arrogance out of you...lol

Its not arrogance. its a fact. US universities will count my As as A+ and Bs as A-. thats how the offical conversion is done.

oh i put 100 for that problem :(

Well I didnt do good either...I omitted about 16....and I took AP Physics B and passed with a 3 (currently taking APPC) .....so I feel for you guys...

well i ommited about 7 - and i guessed few - just to have a chance for 800 :) just kidding - i will be happy with 700 :)

For the sound wave one I got "sound waves can't travel in a vacuum"... does anyone remember any more questions?

So the P=mct one was 10,000 or 100?

i put 100....

I was sure sounds can travel in vacuum - so I was wrong?

yea i was wrong - sound cant travel in vacuum :(

i put 100 too but I used
Qt = mc(delta)T*t and I dono if that's right. Plus I kept getting 1/100...

It's OK tedjj, you've still got a good shot at 800.

What about the one about what accounts for photon emission from atoms (or something like that)? I put E (I think)... I think it was about discrete energy levels, which I immediatly assumed was Bohr's model.

I dont remember - what were other choices?
