Hi!
I was wondering if the sat II's are absolutely necessary for homeschooled students applying to top colleges. I know many schools recommend that homeschoolers take at least two subject tests in order to have an objective evaluation of their academic ability (wow, sorry -- that was a mouthful). However, by the time I graduate, I will have almost 50 credits in community college classes (challenging classes like statistics/chemistry/humanities) from dual enrollment, and I have currently maintained a 4.0 GPA. Doesn't that kind of "show" that I'm fairly capable?
My plan was to take two subject tests this month and just send them in if my scores were over a 700, and if not, I wasn't going to worry about it. (My ACT score is a 33.)
Any input is appreciated! Thanks!

. . . Bump!

Many “top colleges” strongly recommend you submit at least two subject tests. Georgetown suggests three. You will need these tests to bolster your application.

For schools that don’t recommend, your plan to send only scores over 700 seems viable.

There is a thread about “Recommended=need?” subject tests-I forgot where it was,
but when the school says recommended, it’s just saying you better do it.

Thanks for you advice!
I’ll try to find that thread.
