OK, so I am a junior with a 3.6 UW gpa in the rigorous classes that my school offers so not great but reasonable and I took the December SAT for the first time without any preparation and I scored an 1870 (CR: 600 W: 620 (57 MC and 10 essay somehow) M: 650). I am pretty depressed about these scores because I was hoping for a 2000+ and my strongest subject in school is math and to only score a 650 on math was kind of a huge let down. How can I improve my scores all around to get a better score. My mom wants me to get a tutor but is this a good idea where I stand and how affective would that be at this point because I plan on taking the January SAT. Also any links to articles to help for critical reading and writing would be useful and any math tips would also be appreciated. Thanks a lot.
Hi,
With the SAT it is fairly easy to tutor yourself, try the official SAT book (blue book) and maybe direct hits for extra vocabulary and you’re good to go
