SAT March 10 2012

when one arrives!

Did anyone get a passage about Charlie Chaplin??

@coolazn i said when one arrives

@coolazn1995
upon arrival

@forsworn99
i got for 3. something about her personality

@forsworn I just explained it incorrectly. I put what you put.

Lol @ greenroses. I don’t even remember which one I bombed now

i had the grid in with the cake so i’m guessing the exp section was the 20 question section with the 30 60 90 triangle or the one semi circle with where you had to find the shaded section

tone of the electoral college last two paragrpahs? evenhanded?

Charlie chaplin!

did you guys put perfectionist for the charlie chalpin one?

Yes, perfectionist and evenhanded

yes, perfectionist for Charlie Chaplin. also, “skepticism”, and “But the number” for the transition.

and I said “evenhanded” but I am not sure on that one.

For Writing, it was “when one arrives” right? cause it correlated (was parallel) with the subject of the main clause. Someone please confirm.

What did you guys get for the math systems of equations exponent one where you had to find the product XYZ?

I put evenhanded but I dontknow…

@forsworn it was when one arrives because all of the other ones would be misplaced modifiers

@coolazn1995 I put she was struck by her language. It said that she liked the way that she dressed but she wasn’t surprised by it. However, the way that Yu-i talked to her was different than all her other relatives, so I put that.

Also for the writing, I’m pretty sure it was When one arrives. The whole sentence was ARRIVING in Bora Bora, mt. blah blah blah looms in the distance, dominating one’s view. Since the subject is one, and because both Upon arrival and When arriving would create a dangling modifier, as you would be saying the mountain arrives, so I put When one arrives.

Idk though there’s a good chance I’m wrong

Yes, “When one arrives” is correct. How about the writing paragraph, was the transition “for example”

@forsworn When one arrives seems correct. That’s what I put.

@benevolent I put 1440

@happycat, dcnow - exactly

For the China passage, it was appearance, because the part of the passage where she was a child was when she talks about her grandma was a tomboy like herself, and she dicusses her pantsuits and how she identified with her b/c of her appearance.
