SAT math help

So I got this question correct (which allowed me to finally get a perfect score :)), but I still am not sure why I got the answer. Here it is:
1) Points Q, R, and S lie on line L in that order, and point P is not on line L. If PQ=PS, which of the following must be true?
a) PQ>PR
b)PQ>QR
c)PQ>QS
d)PR>RS
e)QR>RS

I think I know why A is correct... but I want to make sure I have the right reason lol

Draw a picture of an isosceles triangle PQS where Q and S are vertices on the base and P is the vertex opposite the base. Now draw altitude PR (so R is the midpoint of P and S). Since the perpendicular distance is the shortest distance, PQ>PR. Now think about what happens if you move R to the right or left. Can PR be made greter than or equal to PQ? Certainly not!

yup, exactly the same reasoning I had… just wanted to make sure. Thanks!!
