SAT Math Problem Level 5

I got this question wrong on a practice test for the Blue Book, but the College Board Blue Book doesn't explain wrong answers, and I haven't been able to solve this after going back to the questions I got wrong.

(x-8)(x-k)=x^2-5kx+m

In the equation above, k and m are constants. If the equation is true for all values of x, what is the value of m?

A. 8
B. 16
C. 24
D. 32
E. 40

Maybe the mistake was trying to solve it algebraically. I didn't try plugging in answers yet, but could you try to come up with an algebraic solution?

Oh, sorry, I forgot to search… How does one delete a thread? I can’t find an edit button. Or maybe I just ran out of time for editing
