SAT Math Question from January 2011 SAT

There is a related question: find an average number of eggs per cake (based on the same data). In this case you have to know neither number of cakes nor number of eggs - here xiggi’s approach shines.

weighted average = 20/6 = 10/3.

In case you don’t believe me:
1080/(162+108+54) = 1080/324 = 10/3.

How 'bout (-1) + 0 + 1 = (-1)x0x1.
You positively did not say positive! ;p

That’s why the G in gcf stands for the “greatest.”

^The last 5 or 6 posts pretty much went over my head. :P

^ They’re just calculating the average eggs per cake and doing a ‘puzzle’. :)

1-(1/2)-(1/22/3)=54=(1/6)
total is 654=324

^So there are 324 cakes. What about the eggs?

54 * 2 + 54 * 2 * 3 + 54 * 3 * 4 = 54 * 2 + 54 * 6 + 54 * 12 = 54 * 20 = 1080…
If you don’t like words. :)
