SAT math, wording help?

Can someone please settle this problem im having. Im allways confusing wording like he has twice as many or there are half as many paintings. please someone elaborate and maybe list the possible phrases like the ones i showed and please elaborate!!

Type out some specific questions that you are confused on if you want good help.

Twice as many = multiply by 2
Half as many = Multiply by 0.5

For instance: John has 8 dogs. Mike has half as many. How many dogs does Mike have?

(8 dogs)(0.5) = Mike has 4 dogs

or

John has 8 dogs. Mike has twice as many. How many does Mike have?

(8)(2) = Mike has 16 dogs

I don’t know if that helps at all. If you give me specific questions I might be able to give better aid.

nah that was much help now that I get which number multiplies which. thanks man! :)
