Alright, so here's the deal. When I signed up for my SAT Subject Test for some reason I forgot to put my middle initial in the information, and the proctor told me that I should leave it blank on test day aswell. If I put my middle initial next time I take an SAT test will College Board be able to match my scores? There's also another layer. My birth certificate and SS card both have two last names in them, as I'm of latino origin. However, I only ever use one of them when I fill stuff out. Will this cause trouble when I send in my scores to colleges?

It might take them longer to match up the scores, but they should be able to do it. As for colleges, sometimes it’s tricky. I’m Latina as well and when I took my PSAT I registered for CB with only one of my last names, and I took my SATs and SAT IIs under that name. However, when I applied to colleges sometimes I would be notified that I hadn’t sent in score reports…even though I had. So it was a matter of calling the college and following their procedure for a “score merge.”

A score merge is when they merge scores they had under your name on the SAT (say, Juanita Perez), with the application information they had under your full name (Juanita Perez Gonzalez). It’s really simple and painless haha, so don’t worry about that. Just watch out for your application status and make sure that you call admissions if, after a reasonable time, your official scores don’t show up as part of your application.

No problem! Surprisingly, out of everywhere I applited…the only people who didn’t figure out to put my tests and applications together until I called them were drumroll the admissions people at Harvard!

Not to insult Harvard, because it’s an awesome school, but now that I think about it, it’s kinda funny.
