Hello,

I was just wondering how much AP/IB HL Physics and AP/IB Bio SL would prepare me for these two subject tests. Seeing as I would be studying for the AP/IB tests during the spring, I figured it would be prudent to just take the SAT II's too. Thoughts?

Thanks,

I can’t speak specifically for physics, but on the subject of bio:

Definitely less intense than the AP/IB course you will have. If you get a solid 5 on the AP exam or a 7 on the IB exam, you can expect a score in the 700-800 range.

From what I’ve heard Physics is the same deal. In general, the SAT II’s are easier than their respective AP counterparts. So definitely think about taking them after your AP/IB course.

Great, thanks!

Do you happen to know of any good review books for quick review/brush up?

AP Biology is a great prep course for the Subject Test in Bio (especially Bio M). If you want to do some quick studying for Bio, get a AP Biology PowerPack from the people that do SparkNotes. The flashcards are great for studying and the trifold thing in there gives a good overview and a general idea for all the major processes (photosynthesis, meiosis, mitosis, etc). And, if you can find a powerpack this time of year, it’s pretty cheap (only $15).
