Im taking the sat subject test for physics and I stumbled across this http://www.cracksat.net/sat2/physics/question-46-answer-and-explanation.html shouldnt the lever arm be perpendicular to the force as in costheta*l= 40/root3 ?
The equation for torque is T = r × F,
or T = r * Fsinø.
(Did my best with the symbols; I’m on mobile, haha.)
Fsinø is the lever arm.
