Hello, I was looking for some classroom SAT preps. I looked through many discussions, most of them just complaining about the course and not really explaining the benefits of it. The 2 names I came across were Kaplan and Princeton Review. Also, I am not interested in self studying because I work better in a classroom and due dates. Please share your experiences with the review courses, and include both positive and negative aspects of them. Thank you!
Try Kahn Academy. They have free practice tests for both the ACT and SAT. Do a few of those tests to help you prepare for the actual test.
A friend’s son raised his score by 300 points with Kaplan (old SAT) so it does work. I don’t know about PR.
Those courses tend to see the best results when a student has no, or little, previous experience with the test and isn’t necessarily aiming for the tippy top colleges. They are more affordable than private tutoring, but not as effective of course.
