In the xy plane, line L has equation y= 1/4x + 3, and line M has equation y= 1/2x + b. If the lines intersect at the point with coordinates (t, 11/2), what is the value of b?

Is this a mistype? 90n + 23p = 4523 was probably the actual question. If so, the most obvious answer is p= 1 and n= 50, so 51.

4
There are 30 days in June. To find the least number, we want the most number of children on the other days.
1 child *29 days=29… too small
2 children *29 days=58… still too small
3 children *29 days=87… seems pretty close to 89, but that will leave 2 children to be born on the 15th, which is too small. But what 3 children were born on 28 days, and 1 on the last day to equal 85 children? Then we will have 4 children on the 15th.

0.5 or 1/2
11/2 = 1/4 x+3
x=10

11/2 = 1/2*10 + b
b=0.5 or 1/2

Another mistype.

212-37 = 175
175/2 = 87.5
87.5 + 37 = 124.5 males
