SAT Score 1740 & 4.1(10th-11th) & 3.8 cumulative GPA College Admission

Hi I’m gonna be a senior in two months.
I took SAT test twice already. First time, i got 1200. And Second time, i got 1740.
And i have 3.8 (weighted) cumulative GPA And 4.1 (weighted) & 3.8 (unweighted) GPA for my sophomore and junior year.
I did really bad on my freshman year. So my cumulative GPA isn’t that high ( I got 2.8 on freshman year)
Additionally, i got 800 on SAT 2 Korean Language and 700 on Math 2c.
I’m planning to apply schools such as USC, U of Washington, Boston Univ, NYU, and pretty much all the UCs.
Do you think my scores and school grades are good enough to get in those schools?
I’m also thinking about taking SAT one more time.

Are the SAT scores 3-part? What was the breakdown of CR-M-W on the 1740 score? Did you study/prep much either time? To be honest, the scores are low for the schools you list. Did you consider trying the ACT? Maybe take a practice (not real thing) ACT under timed, test conditions and see how you do. Many prep companies give you that option. You might do better. I would think you should either take SAT once more (and study a lot) or take ACT in the fall. Is there another SATsubject test you could take that you think you could do well with? Also, what are you planning to study. Sorry for so may questions - but need a better picture.

SAT 1740, which must be the composite from all section, is perhaps too low for these schools.

California resident? Have you checked the net price calculator on each school?

For UCs and CSUs, GPA is recalculated from 10th-11th grade course grades, so that can help you if your worst grades were in 9th grade. The less selective of the UCs and most CSUs look rather likely for you. However, note that selectivity at many of these schools and others on your list does vary by intended major.

Your SAT score will be the limiting factor for most of the UC’s, NYU and USC. With a score of 1740, you are looking at good chances at UCM/UCR/UCSC. UCI is an outside possiblity since they prefer High GPA and more forgiving with lower test scores. For the rest of the UC’s, you are below the average with your SAT score. As stated by @ucbalumunus, intended major does impact your chances. I suggest you study this summer and retake or try the ACT. Aim for at least a 1900+ for better chances at the Mid-tier UC’s, 2000+ for the Upper Tier UC’s and USC/NYU. As always, spend time on your EC’s and essays. Good luck.

Grades should be good enough, while there is still room for improvement. UC’s don’t count freshman year which is great for you.

But yeah, your SAT will be the thing that limits you. If you’re struggling with the SAT, try the ACT. It may be easier for you and in case you’re wondering, aim for a 30+ for the schools on your list.
