Sat score choice options question

<p>On the college board site they outline several different "versions" in which schools choose to use or not use the "score choice" option. I read the first 2 "versions" several times (which apparently apply to schools including Princeton and Harvard, respectively) and for the life of me, though one option is "wordier", I can't quite discern the difference between these 2 options. Any help?</p>

<p>Also, if schools (again, like Princeton and Harvard) use one of these options, does this mean a student does NOT have to submit ALL SAT and SAT subject scores to these schools? Or do these "versions" (numbers 1 and 2) have nothing to do with whether students must still submit all scores? Oh, I am copying/pasting/quoting the two options direction from the site:
Highest Section Scores Across Test Dates —Version 1
(Highest M, CR, W)
<university x=""> has indicated that it considers your highest section
scores across all SAT test dates that you submit. Feel free to send any
additional scores that you want to make available to <university x="">.</university></university></p>

<p>Highest Section Scores Across Test Dates —Version 2
(Highest M, CR, W)
<university x=""> has indicated that it considers your highest section
scores across all SAT test dates that you submit. Only your highest
section scores will be considered as part of the final admissions
decision. Each time you submit scores, <university x=""> will update your
record with any new high scores.
<university x=""> strongly encourages you to submit your scores each
time you take the SAT. Sending your scores each time you take the
SAT can benefit you by allowing <university x=""> to consider you for all
available enrollment-related opportunities.</university></university></university></university></p>

<p>Do not use the CB for Score Choice policies, instead go to the individual college websites. Large lists like this one compiled by the CB are often out-of-date and generalized, the college websites will explain in full of the details of their Score Choice policies.</p>

<p>Oh, thank you entomom! That actually makes a lot of sense. (Although I still don’t even see how Versions 1 and 2 differ regardless of whether a given school adheres to them or not).</p>

<p>I don’t see any difference in those policies either.</p>

<p>The policies as stated are referring to superscoring rather than Score Choice. They only refer to SC by omission (ie. they don’t say you HAVE to send all scores).</p>

<p>Most of the college websites go into more detail and give examples of their policies in use.</p>
