Hello,
I was wondering if anyone knows the strength of SAT scores, in the course of the application process?
Thank you!

I think my daughter’s SAT scores helped her a lot. Her gpa was only a 3.4 (her high school does not weight for honors courses, and she took many of them). However, her SAT score was a 2000/2400. She was the captain of two varsity sports teams and worked part time. Other than that, no too many ECs

She was accepted this year under the early acceptance program. She is really excited about JMU. We feel that her SAT scores saved the day.

Good luck!

Thank you,
Yeah my SATs scores aren’t the highest, so I’m hoping my AP classes, GPA, ECs, and Community service will override my low scores.

imo JMU places more weight on GPA than SAT scores.

Daughter had stellar gpa 3.8 or so, unweighted. Low SAT scores…1660/1700 range. Great EC’s and community involvment. Accepted in state, regular admission. I think a balanced resume is best.

My GPA was a 3.72 at the time of applying in October 2008 and my SATs were a 1510/2400 and i got in early action…

Thank you, all for your responses. I just got to hope for the best!
