*SAT Subject Test Biology E/M June 2016 Discussion Thread*

It was total product vs time because the unit for the y axis was measured in grams

I mean u might be Rt, but I’m just arguing because a pr prep book said otherwise

But whatever

Let’s hope the curve is good

The graphs on the SAT and in the PR test had different Y-axes, which is why the answer on this SAT is different from the one in PR.

Exactly

I’m sure the enzymes were filled because it tended to be a line at the end… Also 0-1 seconds for the other question

@Suly99 Yes, that would be the case if the Y-axis was measuring the rate of product formation. However, it was instead measuring the total amount of product in the solution at any given time.

So the answers were: 7-12 seconds, and that the substrates were used up.

What was the first question. I don’t remember

I put 7-12 seconds and active sites filled.

The question was something like: at what time in the experiment was production of produce the least active?

Well I definitely got like -20 now *cries only thing that could save me now is that nice curve

I will requote my earlier post:

"Did anyone else get (A) for #84, the question about antibodies on the M section? I thought it was right but the amount of people here who got tripped up on it is worrying me…

It said something about finding the correct DNA combination to produce a working antibody."

My school’s bio course focuses on ecology, so I know absolutely nobody IRL who took M.

you know the question about the population of insects after a a tree decomposes? a lot of ppl r saying they got the bell curve, but i got a linear decrease. how is it the bell curve???

also, are signals between a neuron and a muscle cell electrical or chemical?

The one after it was the human population. what was that one.

electrical

that one was exponential growth.

@comeonmrtan The insects swarm around the tree to decompose it. As they decompose the tree, the population size around the tree increases exponentially. But as the tree becomes further broken down, there are less nutrients to get, and less space to decompose the tree. Thus, less insects will be able to continue decomposing the tree at a time, and some insects will leave to find food elsewhere.

Correct me if I’m wrong, since ecology is my weak spot.

As for your second question, chemical. The specific neurotransmitter (which PR mentioned) is acetylcholine.

kk I knew I’d get one right and one wrong but didn’t know what to put so I put the same for both lol
