SAT: Subject Test Mathematics Level 2 Post-Test Discussion Thread

Yes, then I got 64/25.

Did anyone get 3, 4, 5, then 6? And also 6 for the log problem? A certain problem in which you got log___ and also 256 was involved in the problem?

I got 6 for the circle/radius problem. Don’t remember the log problem.

so far I’m sure I missed 3 questions.
But I never know which ones I could have missed more,
regarding my nervous mode back then.

If I decide to take the SAT2c math again, would it show up on the application?
And also, is it practical or considered ‘suspicious’ to take a subject test twice?

for log, I got 11

^It’s fine to take a Subject Test twice. At schools that make you send all of your scores, all of your scores (including both administrations) will show up. Others that allow you to choose will only see your best. Either way, the colleges will only consider your best scores (even though some will see all of them).

That said, 46 raw score will still get you an 800.

@nostalgic: I recall the 3+3+5 = 11 one. I meant a different problem, where you find I think the base of a log? And I got 6 for the radius…if that is the 3, 4, 5 one?

That one was log(base x) of 216 = 3, and the answer was 6 because 6^3 = 216.

This may not exactly belong here, but say you omit 4 and then get 2 wrong… That’d be a raw score of 45.5 correct? Is that rounded up to 46?

@SelfIndulgent
That is a 43.5 -> rounded to 44
44 - 2 / 4

OH THAT ONE. Yes, I got the same answer as Zach.

maybe it’s settled but couldn’t find it; anyone knows the one about the number of times the graph intersects? something to do with cos

It’s 6. (10char)

@Zach, Nostalgic: Agreed. Thank you!

all you college confidential kids are all like…i got like 2 wrong :frowning: is that an okay grade? haahah

Hey you guys, I need some help. I had a high fever night before SAT2s, went to bed at 11pm, woke up at 1:30am throwing up, couldn’t go back to bed. Took the SATs while running on a lot of coffee… don’t think I failed miserably, but I omitted and missed a few (between 6-12… can’t even remember right now). I also took the USH SAT2, felt better about that one. Should I cancel? I got a 2280 on the March SAT, and I don’t want these scores to ruin me… but I really don’t know when I can retake.

Consider cancelling (if you think it was abominable), and consider retaking the SAT 2 test in June (deadline May 11 to apply for June, I think).

Still really don’t understand the cone question

The way I’m thinking of it, it’s like an ice cream cone and cutting it in half parallel to the opening on the top doesn’t change the size of the opening (meaning size of the radius), it only changes the height

The radius and height are proportional, so the radius decreases as the height decreases. It’s like when you eat an ice cream cone, the hole gets progressively smaller. If the radius never changed, then you would have a cylinder.

how do you guys think the curve’s gonna be? /:
