SAT Subject test

So I signed up for the SAT Subject test in october for the U.S history test. I plan to add biology for sure on test day however i am not s sure if i should add math 2. I’m applying early to a few schools none of which require 3 subject scores but idk if not taking math 2 would hurt me. Should I take Bio M and U.S History and wait until november to take math 2 and only send 2 scores or bite the bullet and take all 3.

Take Math 2 if you think you can do well (think 750+). If you know the content of Math 2 (Up to Pre-Calculus) then I would recommend that you take it as a good Math 2 score can help you wherever you apply.

However, if you feel like taking 3 tests on 1 day is too much (I did it, and it was not fun), then take the 2 tests that you feel like you can do the best on.

Also, depends on what you’re majoring in. If it’s engineering or math then I would strongly encourage you to take it. If it’s something in the humanities, then doesn’t really matter too much.

With very few exceptions you can decide which SAT 2 scores to send, this college by college. So if you take Math 2 and you don’t like the score don’t send it. In most situations the only downside of taking the Math 2 is that you’ll tire out taking 3 tests in one day.

It would be most cost effective to take 3 subject tests in one sitting.

Definitely take Math 2. As long as you have a decent grasp on precalc topics you should be able to score 750+.

I took the SAT USH and found it to be pretty challenging. I prepped a lot (did not take the class prior) and didn’t do as good as I was hoping.

Math II is a compete joke. I didn’t even remember much from precalculus and I got an 800 with zero preparation. I’m sure just about anyone can get a 750+ on it.

@maaz97 It seems your Math is not that good after all. Around 15% students taking Math2 got 800, but only around 30% got scores higher than 750. If anyone can get 750+, the curve would be collapsed to a 50-point range.
