SAT vs. ACT reporting - advice please..

I am new to this discussion board and greatly appreciate your advice...

I took SAT (M: 790, R: 740, W: 780 and Essay:11) and my state had this state wide test which also included ACT (M: 36, R: 35, W: 35, S: 31 (I sucked) ==> composite score 34).

I know many schools only require SAT or ACT. Based on my score, should I report SAT only, ACT only or both SAT and ACT?

This question must be asked and discussed before, If there is a link to the past discussion thread, that would be even better.

I wish everyone good luck in their school search...

I say send them both. Your ACT score is really good and so is your SAT score.

Do not even hesitate to send both.

If you send only the ACT it has to have the writing part on it as well, but both of your scores are so good that you should definitely send both.

@morningrain: Both your scores are terrible. I’m surprised you’re even bothering to apply to ANY college with a 2310 and 34. Unbelievable.

My son got a 1270 on the SAT and a 31 on the ACT. The essay on the SAT (8) was slightly better than the ACT (5). His counselor is recommending he send both. I’m not too sure about it because, although both are decent scores, there is a 100 point difference between the two (conversion 31 on ACT is about a 1380 on SAT).

I’m concerned that the schools might see the ACT as a fluke. Opinions?
