SAT vs. ACT

I’ve been noticing that schools tend to care most about the CR+M on the SAT. What is the ACT equivalent section of the CR? English, English/Writing, or Reading?

Many colleges consider the ACT math and English score to be the most important. Also, colleges that do score conversions, ACT to SAT or vice versa, actually convert math to math and ACT English to SAT critical reading (or vice versa).

Not the English with Writing? My English alone is 35 but combined with an 11 essay it drops to a 34.

While ACT math and English are most important, they aren’t really the equivalent of SAT CR+M. Specific SAT subscores have a bit more importance than subscores on the ACT. CR+M is sort of like the ACT composite, and on both tests, the Writing/English and Writing scores are (at most schools) not very important, since the essays aren’t similar to any college writing assignment and are kinda pointless.
