Does anyone know if taking the SAT without the essay means you might get your scores earlier than the with essay folks?
If yes, how do you find out? Do they send you an email, or do the scores just show up at some point?

Nope. SAT scores from each test date have a uniform release date except for special circumstances (incorrect information bubbled in during test day, etc).
