Hello guys, Ive been looking on this site for about a year now and ive finally decided to join. This site has been very useful so far in my journey of SATs

my first SAT result

Reading 630
Math 660
Writing 630

Overall very normal/regular results. Im looking to get into the 2100 range, and Ive tooken into a couple of tactics and strategy after rummaging through many pages on here

Math: Ive done the problems from da blue book & looked at my mistakes and i now get 700s consistently.
Reading: My vocab is just really bad and Ive bought a "direct hits" book and plan on memorizing vocab thru da "xigi" method
Writing:
Ive seen many thread dat recommend learning the grammer rules "cold" and I plan on following the more knowledgable people on this site but
I don't know which grammar book would possibly help me on this part... I got a 12 on my first essay & im not worried about it, but its just my grammar that Im really worried about

Please recommend me any grammar book that would aid me in learning the grammar "cold."

thanks

As much as people recommend it, I honestly believe that if you read and write a lot (like formal papers for english) you will come to know whats proper and improper usage/grammar. I found that when I was trying to learn German grammar by myself from this ridiculously complicated book, I would forget the rules the next day.

Try reading some scholarly articles on topics that interest you. Notice the style and how they use “in which” … “of which” …etc.

idk if that helped but i hope it did. lol

I’m going to second Briguy’s advice. A lot of the writing questions don’t test knowledge of grammar so much as knowledge of how sophisticated, well-written prose is structured. Make sure you have a good knowledge of grammar rules, but that alone is usually not enough to score in the top ranges. Reading a lot will also help you immensely with CR.

Thanks for the two responses so far
I have written many essays as Im enrolled in many AP classes and they require many ( Especially AP his & AP English), and overall I dont really mind essays and I believe Im decent at them, hence my 12 on the essay.

I’ve also read extraordinarily a lot, especially books on conspiracies and am immensely interested in sociology although Im not interested in studying either.

I appreciate the responses, but I have just a month left and need to learn these as quick as possible…

thanks

I know that the official SAT discussion tests are important and getting much traffic, but anyone with help, please aid me

thanks
