SAT writing score?

Because I'm curious--does Caltech care at all? I mean, obviously it's far less important than, say, your math score, but does it carry any weight, or is it just completely irrelevant?

(I'm asking partly because of a friend of mine--he's got an 800 CR / 800 M / 640 W.)

Fairly irrelevant. I mean, you probably don’t want a sub 600 score, but otherwise I think your essays are the more important “writing” factor.

His SATs look very weird that way. Lol. I guess it’s fine, though.

You write essays in your applications, so I’ve never understood the purpose of a writing score. Testing your ability to place commas? That’s about the most useless thing I’ve ever heard.

I didn’t think it mattered much, but it’s nice to hear confirmation.

Dauntless, I think the College Board just added that in to make it look like they’d “reformed.” And Lobzz, he’s a weird kid, so I guess it fits.
