<p>I have a lot of what Oxy is looking for, I have great grades, great ec's, essays, rec, and etc. My only issue is my sat scores are really low. I've heard many different things about how oxy views sat scores. I've sometimes heard that they care more about the overal package and not really crazy about sat scores. Then i've also heard that they are really interested in students with high scores. therefore i cant really tell which is more true.</p>

<p>I believe it would be better to take the ACT, but you should apply anyway because you never know. If something from the aplication impresses them, they will forget about the SAT.</p>
<p>occidental might be a reach. id say go ahead an apply for it becuz u could be the lower 25% who do get accepted but dont do what i did…hope u’ll get in and set it as ur dream school. i wanted to go to NYU and ppl got in with my sat score, but i didnt get in. </p>
<p>maybe a good match for u is pepperdine, USF, or chapman. if u want to go there tho, u shud definitely apply. i applied to schools that i would have a really low chance of getting into but who knows? its worth the application fee cuz u DO have a chance. and we only do this ONCE.</p>
