afruff - u didn't take it? so when will u take it? is anyone cancelling his/her score over here?
should i - 5-6 wrong???
afruff - do u understand about fermentation? The purpose of cell respiration is to get ATP from glucose...those anaerobes are doing fermentaition for a reason.

Followup on the Huntingtons, I put 75% but its probably wrong considering the majority put 50%. I noticed that they didn't give the father's genotype so I got confused. I had two punnet squares, one showing 50% and one showing 100%.

I don't know why but I tooked at the phenotypes possible and put them together, showing 6/8 chance that he will have it and 2/8 being homozygous recessive (no disease). That was the reason why I chose 75%, but maybe collegeboard just wasn't specific enough in their wording, or there was something we had to know about the question that we didn't know.

LoL that gives us four things to complain about to collegeboard
1) 50% punnet square
2) mutation question
3) bird
4) Grass land/ rainforest

Yeah, now we just have to find a time to all complain at once :D

im pretty sure that the huntington's one said specifically that the dad was heterozygous/hybrid for that allele i could be wrong though

I thought it said that too...and didn't remember having any problem with that question. But maybe I made some subconscious assumptions without reading the question carefully enough...

im getting confused... is the mutations question specific to the M section or the general 1-60s?

It was from M; I took E and didnt see it

Hey is anybody going to complain about the last experiment questions in the M section. The one with mRNA and TAT. Was it just me or was that a bad set of questions. The questions said TAT mRNA but on the graph it was labeled just mRNA do u just assume that mRNA = TAT, and the other dashed line TAT = TAT. And in the questions they were switching between calling it mRNA TAT to just mRNA and then calling TAT and enzyme so u assume its the mRNA makin the TAT. And then they mention a hormone don't remember which one and it is unlclear what the hormone is affecting. Cause in graph 2 it said that an inhibtor is in place and you would assume the inhibor would slow down the enzyme but the inhibitor according to the graph didnt affect mRNA producion but made TAT production go to 0. I have never heard about mRNA translation being inhibited. (except in bacteria operon functioning, however this was not the case) I stared at this question and reread about 45 times and just couldnt understand what was being done. Anybody else agree or was it just me? Should i complain to Collegeboard, anybody with me?

-And i agree with the bird question and which biome being food production == bad questions.

same question about the carrot phloem root question... E or M or 1-60?

So, who's going to complain

student there was a mrna that makes tat which is mrna tat...and it can be inhibited...im with u for the other two you want to complain about...

We should all complain...carrot phloem = E

what WAS the answer to the carrot phloem?

WHERE DO WE COMPLAIN???????????!?!?!?!?!?

Yeah, so pretty much is was TAT mRNA which was to be translated to form TAT. I also stared at that question for about 5 - 10 minutes. It was really badly worded and knowing collegeboard, they should've made it way easier to understand. The question it self isn't hard, but the graphs were just too hard to understand.

Even though it might've been three questions, just staring at those graphs for that long could have affected how well we performed on our other questons, resulting in a poorer performance in our overall score.

um.. didnt answer that one skipped it had absolutely no idea. everything sounded ok and thats all i remember.... what did you get for the question about the glass cover over the terrarium? it was with the question where clover got energy from light and the 3 levels

Collegeboard - email/phone...just dont say u were discussing this w/someone...

OHOhoh for that tat mrna thing did u put that the reason for the lag is that rna has to be transcribed first

Yeah thats waht i put helpneededrthenow. It took forever to understand the graph and i wasnt sure and then i answered the questions based on my incomplete understanding. So i am going to complain about the following questions: Bird-teeth. Which biome produced most food. ANd then the bad wording of the TAT mRNA question.

LoL that gives us five things to complain about to collegeboard
1) 50% punnet square
2) mutation question (if u took M)
3) bird
4) Grass land/ rainforest
5) tat mrna
