Well i got my scores from the oct. 9 2010 test.
1640...(1100)
520 reading
580 math
540 writing(8 on the essay)

Ik this is bad but i was wondering with these scores do you think i will beable to get into a decent university. BTW im a junior in HS atm. If you post plz don't say U FAIL or anything like that.
Personally i thought i would do better....o well and if u guys would any tips?...

Do a bit of studying each day and dedicate your summer to the SAT. Don’t stress out. That is honestly the best advice I can give you.

First, how much did you prep for this test? Did you use the Blue Book? Did you memorize some vocab (Direct Hits preferably)? Were you prepared for the 4 hours long test (mentally)?

Basically, start prepping slowly and DO NOT cram. This is not a school test. Prep an hour a day if you can. You have LOTS of time. I was in your position last year. I got my PSAT score (183) and was very disappointed. Even though I hadn’t prepped for it, I knew I had a long way to go to reach my target score.

I eventually got a 2300 on the October SAT. Honestly, just prep a bit a day and memorize vocab (Direct Hits). Make sure you prep the right way and truly understand why answers are right and wrong. Personally, I did CR sections un-timed at first then slowly cut down on time as I began to get better at them.

Never doubt yourself. My goal went from 2100 to 2200 to 2250 to 2300 and to 2350 before the test. You need to WANT this test. All it requires is a decent amount of intelligence and proper prep and 2100 is attainable easily.

exactyly what the above person said. iv been studying for almost 2 months now. (going to take it as a junior in march for the first time) my goal at first was to just break a 2000 and be done with it. Later did i realize i was upping my goal by almost 20-70 points (blue book practice tests) i had to increase my goal to a 2300 now. Honestly u CANNOT cram for an SAT. it tests ur skill. To increase you skill it takes time. Just set your mind to a goal
