I know Stanford and Yale want all of your SAT scores. So I was wondering, will these SAT's affect my admissions?

1st try: 2290 (800 M, 760 CR, 730 W 8 E)
2nd try: 2180 (770 M, 710 CR, 700 W 8 E) Really bad day
3rd Try: This January, I already signed up and don't want to waste my parents' money. I am retaking more for the sake of getting my SAT closer to my PSAT and for summer camp apps than for college apps. I am aiming for 2350+ but idk what will happen.

So, is this bad for Yale and Stanford?

If you were looking for people to dole out praise for the 2290, which you know is perfectly fine and above the 99th percentile, here it is:

wow much fab you’re set. 2250 and above is fine. wow so smart. you’ve got this in the bag. it’s fine.

Sorry, I was not clear in my original question. I am aware that 2290 is a good score. However, I wanted a 2350+ as my goal and I took the November hoping for that score. At that time, I did not consider a 2290 as a really good score (Now I do). Also, at that time, I was not aware of Yale and Stanford’s policy. There are 3 reasons for me taking the January and they are:
- My PSAT score is pretty high and I would like to match that score in order to attain finalist status (and I believe you have to take the SAT after the PSAT, correct me if I am wrong)
- I want a more competitive score for summer camps and opportunities purpose
- I would like to attain my personal goal

So, when I mean is it bad for Yale and Stanford, is it bad that I took the test 3 times, got a relatively bad score the 2nd time, and that I am retaking the test even though I had a pretty good first score?

bump. please guys, I really would like to know.

(I’m just a parent, not an admissions officer.) Personally, I don’t think either school will reject solely on the fact that you took the SAT three times. However, I do think they will wonder about WHY you took the SAT three times given that you got a very very good score the first time out.

2350 is not magical. The difference between 2290 and 2350 is pretty minimal. You can score 2290 and get into Yale/Stanford and you can score 2350 and be rejected from Yale/Stanford.

See if you can exchange the SAT I test payment for SAT II subject test.
