Saturday and Sunday?

Is there anyway I can take both the SAT and an SAT Subject Test the same weekend? I want to apply early decision to a college that requires 2 SAT Subject Tests, but I only have one. I still need to re-take the SAT to improve my score. I don't want to risk taking the November SAT and not having my scores submitted in time for early decision.

I don’t think there is a way. You can take SAT I in October and SAT II in November, and ask the school if they accept scores later than the deadline. I heard someone did that

I would take the SAT II first, since you NEED that to get in, while an SAT I retake is just a good idea.

Alternately, consider taking the ACT. There might be a session that would release results before November. If you do well enough on the ACT, you won’t really need a great SAT score.

I would take the ACT but I have already invested a lot of time and money into practicing for the SAT and I am confident I can do 2200 + on my next attempt.

If you can, that’s great. I’m just saying, the ACT and SAT have a lot of overlap; the differences are minor.

You cannot take both Saturday and Sunday SAT; the Sunday SAT exists only for those unable to take the Saturday test usually due to religious reasons.

To which college are you intending to apply ED? I ask because many of those colleges (such as the ivies that have ED) accept Nov tests for ED as long as you name them in the test application as a school to automatically receive scores as soon as they are released.

Cornell U, on their website, it says they may or may not accept November test scores.

They say that every year but if you designate the college as one of your automatic sends, they will get there on time to review (CB actually sends them electronically two days before you even learn of your score). They have to say that because it is possible the test could arrive too late – which would happen if, for example, you took the test and College Board put a hold on issuing scores while it investigates possible improprieties involving the test, e.g., you can have scores held up for weeks if there is suspicion of cheating in the room where the test was given even if you are not among those suspected. Note, I am assuming you actually need SAT IIs. Cornell requires them for most colleges but no longer requires them at all for the a couple such as the Industrial and Labor Relations college. If you do not actually need them you should definitely redo SAT in Oct if you feel you need higher score. Then you can take Nov subject tests and send them if you want to add to your file.

Really? Thank you so much for the advice, I am definitely signing up send my scores early through Collegeboard.

And am applying to Industrial and Labor Relations… and you just helped me a lot!

I already have one Subject Test and wanted to take a second one. But since the actual Reasoning Test will weigh much more with my application I might take that one in October and send a second Subject Test as a supplement in November.
