Say "thanks" to a helpful CC member!

There is only an option to approve, and you can’t unclick it.

Hmm, maybe only moderators can disapprove of a post, bwahaha!!

There will be a threshold for voting “disapprove,” at least while we’re in the testing phase. For right now, members can give positive votes only. That’s subject to change, though, as we see how much use the feature is getting.

I would hope that most members wouldn’t withhold a positive vote from a member who provided thoughtful, well-informed advice, even if they didn’t agree with all the specifics.

When I mouse over other people’s green dots, I see “so-and-so is on a distinguished road.” When I mouse over my own, it says I’m “infamous around these parts.” Is that the case for everyone? Maybe there IS a way to leave negative feedback…lol.

ML- Oh boy! Lol

I honestly think CC is too cliquey for this to be a good thing, but we’ll see

Gotcha.

Question: I see we have the option of leaving a comment when we give reputation points…who sees the comments? Does the respective user see them? Or the Admins? etc?

Too bad we can’t vote for ourselves, it may be the only way I get on down the road.

Arcadia - I see the same phrase when I hover over my green dot as other cc members (the few I checked). Perhaps yours has to do with the length of time you’ve been a member?

VOTE FOR Youdon’tsay!!!

Dusty Bottoms: “What does that mean, in-famous?”

Ned Nederlander: “Oh, Dusty. In-famous is when you’re MORE than famous. This man El Guapo, he’s not just famous, he’s IN-famous.”

-"¡Three Amigos!"

sabaray, I don’t see a scale icon under your name now!

If you click on “My Control Panel” and scroll down to the bottom, you’ll see your reputation activity.

Can you tell us what the scale is after voting? I see “X is on a distinguished road” and “X will become famous soon enough” which I take to be a higher endorsement level. What are the other endorsement levels, and who decided that it would be best to have the endorsement levels a) obscure in meaning and b) not appear unless you moused over the person’s green dot? The beauty of the “likes” on Facebook, or “thanks” I’ve seen on other forums, is that I don’t have to do anything to see them – they are out in the open.

It seems like new members would have to understand the “code” to know the reputation of a member. Is there a way we can sticky an explanation of the different phrases?

Pizzagirl, great minds think alike…

I just have to say that this whole thing has really made me sad. I used to really enjoy coming here. I’ve come here for a long time for advice and think I have provided support to many people, often through PM’s. I “chat” daily with other parents, basically on one thread, who are all on “distinguished roads”. Evidently I am the only one who is infamous. Just wondering what I did to set myself apart.

I don’t know, sabaray, that doesn’t make sense. If you can only ADD points, I don’t see why yours would say that. I will ask for you!

So…if a person’s reputation goes down low enough, does their account get deactivated?

If it goes high enough, can we become a moderator? Seems only fair.

Sabaray, take heart. You are now “on a distinguished road.”

This is going to be fascinating…

Perhaps if you’ve ever received an infraction, you’re listed as infamous?

To answer B, some people might be less likely to log-in if “scoundrel” was displayed openly right below their name…
