Driving on the Wash DC Beltway, a driver gave me a “fight on” in his rear view mirror as he passed my car with the USC decal!

You’re lucky - most drivers on the beltway give a different sort of signal when they pass you.

Wow, hope to be here in the Fall.

it’s over 90 degrees in March (ew) and you walk past the Kid’s Choice and/or SAG Awards while going about your daily business… but luckily, don’t notice the X Factor auditions right across the street from your dorm!

people have sex on top of roofs in the middle of the day :D

I sooooooo want to be a Trojan!!!

USC is the kind of university where you can stumble to Menlo after dancing all night at a frat party, enjoy some wine and cheese, and discuss California censorship laws with someone who turns out to be your production TA.

And the whole Trojan family thing is true. I didn’t believe it at first, but my friend managed to get a downtown apartment at half price because the landlord was a Trojan.

Bump for new applicants…

Where an applicant from a deep southern state drove a hundred miles to and from a recent admissions information reception as she wanted to learn more about her “dream” university, USC.

Wow. Awesome stuff.

For Jane101Smith,

An updated list will be posted here soon.

bump

USC is the kind of school where there is a strong sense of school spirit despite being in a big city.
USC is the kind of school that gives back to the community though their students(volunteering, research etc.)
USC is the kind of school that competes with UCLA in everything, but offers a better price(normally free )

…This needs an update, but thought some applicants might enjoy reading a different view of the university

USC is the kind of place where Elton John decides his ONLY US concert will be on the USC campus, gives out advance copies of his new CD to the students - then goes to the Grammy’s backed by the USC student musicians.

USC is the kind of place where they screen Game of Thrones way before the public sees it.

USC is the kind of place where you can meet your favorite authors for free because the L.A. Times holds its annual book festival there and the sessions are held in the campus auditoriums.

USC is magical (after you recover from the sticker shock ).

USC is the kind of place where you can see your university on the tv when you watch How to Get Away with Murder.

USC is the kind of place where you might need to call home for a costume, because your roommate needs another princess for the the short film she is working one with another group of friends.

USC is the kind of place where you can actually graduate in 4 years. Even with a double major.

I loved this thread when @GeorgiaGirl first posted it a few years ago, and the content is still relevant. Isn’t it time to continue the discussion, for the benefit of those making those tough college decisions?
USC is the kind of place where an architecture student can still have time to minor in the world’s best Cinematic Arts program (where any major can take classes) and then have Student Industry Relations go to bat for a dream architecture job with Disney Imagineering.
Thank you for your kind comment. It is time for me to update that thread as there are many more new things to add to or change with the growth of the university.
