sc vs. texas

Vince Young isn't a little boy....

6'5, 230...I think he could hold his own in the NFL.....he's bigger than some of em.....not to mention he's fast

I think out of the hyped quaerbacks coming out this season Matt Leinart is an much safer, and more reliable choice. ON a different note, I am just curious what everyone thinks about Marcus Vick coming out into the NFL this year.

Let's just say that this is not the year of the QB. Leinart is probably the only solid QB entering the draft. Well maybe Leak of UF, and Quinn from ND, but not too many really good NFL style QB's.

Quinn isn't coming out.

And Marcus Vick just got booted from the team!

Marcus Vick is a self-centered and extermely overratted QB.

McNeal of Texas Tech, Young of Texas, Culter of Vanderbuilt, Leinhart of USC, Quinn of ND, White of West Virginia, Shockley of Georgia, Leak of Florida, Hene of Michgan, and even Brade Smith of Missouri are all better QBs.

He can scarmble but who cannt? Plus, he got this stupid attuide and I dont think he will make it to the pros.

Marcus Vick is a very good player, however I think he'll end up drafting low. Nobody wants to end up with another Owens like the Eagles had this season, and Vick could be that player.

B_B, Mcneal is from Texas A&M. Texas Tech has a quaterback graduating this year but his name is Hodges. I am not even certain he is trying to go pro, but he might be. I am pretty certain that Quinn will come out next year, along with Troy Smith from Ohio State who is really talented.

Thanks for the heads up, I always get the AM&M and techs confused.....:D

Hmm, Just read the news, Marcus Vick is going to pro. He didnt exactly have a good college career and his stats are horrible. I think he will go very late in the draft or sign on as a free agent. I just cannt imgaine him being a first round or second round pick....

I say Vick goes in the 3rd or 4th round, and I'm just hoping to god that Leak stays for his senior year, which I think he shoud and will.

I think this is a good thread for this. I just heard that Young is going pro for sure. I think he should go at least second. Any other opinions?

I think Houston will draft him just because he is local.

I mean Houston is not going to be a winning team any time soon and they are still in the rebuilding process. They lack a great offensive line so even if they take Bush, Bush will have no blocking and be ineffective.

But if they take Young, he might draw some more fan support as he is local and can really be a dual-threat QB with great legs and arms.

Vince Young cannot be tackled. He doesn't even really run, he just walks over everyone else. The NFL might be tougher but he'll have tougher guys guarding him.

Houston wants Bush....New Orleans will probably snag Young

LOL, we'll see about that... one hit from a guy like Brian Urlacher, and Young will learn not to run out of the pocket as much as he does at UT.

Oh, and Houston already has a QB.

Houston is vested in Carr, they're not gonna take him. And New Orleans will probably take Lienart, he's better proven and much more "pro style" than young. Remember everyone, one game doesn't prove everything, Lienart's proven himself over 3 years, and deserves to be taken second. I'm not sure the rest of the draft lineup, but the next team to need a QB will probably take young.

The Jets maybe?
They went through 4 QBs this year and Pennington gets injuried everytimes he shows sign of improvement.

I agree that Leinart will be selected before Young. IMO, Young won't go until late in the first round....he's a good college specimen, and performs well at that level, but the NFL has a totally different take on QB's than college does. Even a lightning fast QB, with a much better arm than Young (Michael Vick) isn't dominating the NFL--he looked like a so-so mediocre QB against Carolina the other day. The QB's who do well in the NFL are drop back passers who can outwhit the extremely intelligent/fast defenses of the NFL. QB's like Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Jake Plummer, and Sean Green are more what the NFL looks for.
