I understand all the ups and downs of SCAD...but I want to here if its fun. I am a senior applying there. I would like to find information on things to do on the weekends. Are their bars? Parties? Am I going to be able to make friends with cool people or will I be stuck with wierd art nerds?

I am a high school senior too, and I've been accepted to SCAD. I visited there.. well.. actually during when you posted this thread :P

I went with my dad and... it was GREAT. The town is so eclectic and there are so many different places and shops to go in and out of.

So basically, if I had fun with my dad, then being with friends and classmtes will probably be so much fun. (which is saying something :P)

As for being stuck with weird art nerds... really? Art nerds ARE cool. You just need to appreciate and realize that every single person going to this school has the same ambitions to continue art in their future, which automatically establishes a common interest :)

i sometimes eat homeless poop for fun on the weekends.

One of my best friends from middle school went to SCAD and dropped out after the first semester. She said the students were pompous, arrogant, and felt entitled to whatever they wanted.
Doesn’t sound good to me, then again…everyone wants something different.

One of my friends is going there in the fall.

He just visited and fell in love with it.

I would also like to note that there is a difference between cool art nerds and weird art nerds. There are really freaking weird art nerds, and I’m sure there are probably some of them at every art school.

do you know if SCAD has a study abroad in london? from the website it looks like only lacoste and hong kong
