scared for prom!

judge judy is so funny

yea, she happens to be my favorite

If only because of the sheer idiocy of the plaintiffs in there it is funny; however, it is appalling to see people reduced to such a sad level and attitude to get some extra dollars over a petty court case. One is supposed to try cases that are legit and not fabircated, as some on Judge Judy are.

It's incredebly rude and just plain mean to stand someone up. If she didn't want to go, she should have said no. I cant understand by any stretch of the imagination how it would be alright to stand someone up, and you all are acting like it's no big deal. It is a big deal, and not just because it's prom. stanging somebody up like that is dishonest and hurtful. Other people's feelings aren't something you can just toss around like that, on a whim.

If anything, if you won't go, give him fair warning. But this is somebody you consider a friend. And he doesn't deserve to be blown off.

I wholeheartedly agree.

I was just in a similar situation, except the prom wasn't even for my school, it was for an all-boys school. I didn't know my date that well but he's a nice guy so it was ok. It was a little awkward at the preparty and such because there were a few girls from the same schools that knew each other, but the only girls from my school were 2 seniors (I'm a junior) that I don't know very well.
Overall it worked out fine, it seemed a lot shorter than 5-6 hours

Also, I really dont recommend standing him up, saying you're "sick", or any of the other things people have suggested. Like Gleech said, I find that really rude and disrespectful. I doubt it will be that bad, but it is his senior prom (and even if it wasn't...) so I would just suck it up for a few hours and try to enjoy yourself
