lindsey, don't be discouraged! You will do it! I just did it, so you can too! :)

I'm taking math iic in november--I'm studying out of the Barron's book, and either cuz im lazy or stupid (probably both) this math seems a lot more difficult than regular precalc. Whoever took iic already--was it hard? is studying really required? I would like to do as little work as possible ^-^

Barrons WAYYYYYYY overprepares you.

Way*10^359

I prepped with Barrons for about 3 weeks prior to the test, and I kept scoring in the 600s...I was completely freaked out, and I thought about taking Level 1 on more than one occasion. When I saw the actual questions on test day, I breathed a HUUUUUUUGE sigh of relief. WHOOOOOO. They were much easier than those evil Barrons questions. I kept checking to make sure that I wasn't taking Level 1 by accident! I ended up with a great score, and I'm sure if you put in the time, you will too.

Here's the thing: if you want to be overprepared and scared stiff when you walk into the test, go with Barrons. Many people have said, however, that Sparknotes more closely resembles the test.

I'm sure other people can give you some constructive hints. It really is a blessing though...the curve is AMAZING.

Best of luck.

lol I know Barrons is evil and overprepares--but I like it cuz then it makes the actual test less hard. So I guess my last question was a bit pointless when I knew the answer.

did anyone take the lit sat ii in october and do...okay? I got a 730 and esp bc I put literature as my expected major, I think I'll take it again. But did anyone else find the oct. test particularly hard (I took it before in May and thought it much easier)?

They said Early Action on every envelope, but I don't know if I did that...they'll probably be able to realize by the fact that every form has EA on it. There was only one big envelope I sent. Maybe I should drop them a line?

Ok I almost had a heart attack today... TWICE! In the morning one of the teachers who wrote my recommendation came up to me and said that she was looking over my recommendation and saw that she put ANTHONY down, which is my older brother's name, instead of Nick. I thought that my application had already been sent out by my guidance office but luckily it wasn't out and my teacher handed in a revised sheet... WHEW!

Heart attack #2... MAJOR MAJOR heart attack
I'm sitting in my last period class and this kid comes in late all flustered. He comes up to me and tells me that guidance had my application mixed up with his and was about to send my Yale application to William & Mary and his William & Mary application to Yale. Luckily he had gone in to check if they had sent his app out and the guidance secretary showed him his app in MY YALE ENVELOPE, so this kid basically saved both mine and his lives. The secretary was like "wow you guys are lucky because I was just about to seal the envelopes and send them out in about five minutes" and then she LAUGHED!! She almost ruined my life and she's laughing about it!!

What a stressful day...

Oh man, that is HORRIBLE!

thats terrible!!! now im paranoid!!!

that sucks pre1321

well, my scores are finally up! 1530 this time! 1550 highest combined! i'm so glad i'm doing with this stupid test!

Congrats athlon! That score is well worth your wait :)

wow, that sucks. congrats athlon. I'm finishing my app tonight. Must mail it off tomorrow morning. Then I will take a huge nap tomorrow. mwauahahahaaha

athlon, we match.

Did anyone else notice the lack of EA applicants this year compared to last year? On prstats, there are about 60 yale ea applicants for the class of 2008, but for the class of 2009 there are about 25. Anyone have any opinions as to what this means? Easier for us :) ?

it means no one is posting. hahaha no j/k I don't think you cna bas eit off of prstats. I don't have my stats on there and neither do the other people I know form school who are applying yale EA.....

I STILL CAN'T WRITE THE SHORT ANSWER. OMG.... GOING CRAZY. I need a new perspective on my essays..... I need one person to read it. Kind of hesitant to share it though....

I'll help you if you want. Lol, I have no desire to steal you ideas (I like mine) and I've already sent my app in. Drop me a PM or IM me if you want.

what do you guys think of submitting writing as a supplement?

Newt....Sorry to be a downer, but I'm predicting even more applicants this year than last. Especially since Yale was named "The Hottest Ivy" this year. Blechh.

Yeah, that's what I've been hearing too. I just thought it was strange how prstats doesn't reflect the increase in interest.

thanks. I just emailed you my activity essay. warning, it sucks. I need help getting the cheese factor out! thanks!

I know a lot of people applying EA to Yale, but 90% of them are random, and are only doing it because they couldn't make up their minds about EDing other places and figured they may was well give it a shot.
